Hi there moms, dads, aunts, design lovers.
I’m coming to your inbox today to share some baby finds nobody asked for. Stuff I find imperative you know about.
A brief intro before we get to the good stuff: I’m Aniella, a mom of a sweet and spirited 1 year old named Gala (inspired by this lady) with another girl on the way (name TBD). I have 10+ years of experience as a graphic designer where I’ve found my way into the world of product design and trend forecasting. If you don’t know what that is, it’s quite alright–the reason this is relevant is because I actually study and research trends 2 years ahead of time (with the purpose of creating relevant products that have a crazy-long production time). Simply put, my job is to be person with know-how on what’s going to be the next best thing (if things go as predicted, hello covid?).
And so now as a mom I’ve found myself thrown into a whole new category of products I never really thought about, but I’m fascinated by: baby things. This new perspective undoubtedly has brought into my radar so many amazing brands and inventive stuff I didn’t know I needed. Substack exists, so perhaps it’s a good time for me to share some of my best finds with you all. Things I have my eye on, things that work, things I bought and hated. And most importantly, things that are sustainable and safe–because after reading the damage the fashion industry is doing to the world we are leaving our kids or the blatantly unsafe products some industries are willing to put in market–these two things are always top of mind.
Rest assured, this will be one of the few long blocks of text in one of these newsletter things. As a mom I understand the value of time and as a designer I prefer pictures! So, without further ado here’s a list of cool Barcelona brands I’ve been eyeing and buying.
Búho Barcelona
Búho is a sweet little brand created by Inés Surinyach and Olivier Andrieux. With an array of neutral colors, exclusive prints, and carefully selected fabrics Búho has created the stylish bohemian universe of your dreams, without sacrificing comfort and with very clear sustainability objectives.
